Thai Foot Massage is a combination of massage techniques applied to the lower legs and feet that originated in Thailand over 2,000 years ago.
The techniques used in Thai Foot Massage have been developed from traditional Thai massage and have elements of Shiatsu, Reflexology, Ayurvedic and Chinese medicines incorporated within them.
It is in fact, a traditional treatment still being taught by Buddhist monks in the temples of Thailand.
Thai Foot Massage works the lower legs and feet with stretching and compression to “open” energy lines. A stick is used to stimulate the reflex points on the feet, which correspond to the internal organs of the body, thus resulting in general health and well-being.
The core belief behind Thai Foot Massage is that there are ten major energy lines running through the body from the top of the head to the soles of the feet. These lines end in pressure points on the feet and it is these points that are manipulated to remove blockages and improve the energy flow around the body.
